Mike Bourgon

“As an attorney and Chief Administrative Officer in the financial services sector, I’ve spent years involved with integrating broad-based business issues with the management of human resources. I now work intimately with corporate management and business owners to integrate HR solutions with business goals and to avoid areas of legal liability.”

During his career, Mike has managed the HR challenges faced during 20 mergers and acquisitions, over 30 downsizings, and the redevelopment of numerous back-office infrastructures. He has worked for all types of businesses including insurance companies, hotel operators, industrial firms, and several non-profit companies.

Mike has earned a Juris Doctor Degree and a Legal Master’s Degree in Labor and Employment Law.

He now utilizes his experience to improve staff performance, assess employee risk, and manage human resources across a wide range of industries and disciplines.

Connie Voorhees

Connie has a 30+ year Human Resources career working for both large corporations and small businesses.

She has broad HR experience with an emphasis in Employee Relations, Policy Development and Implementation, Management of HR Staff, Legal Compliance and Recruiting and Staffing. Connie enjoys assisting employers navigate HR and employee issues and developing solutions to enhance business operations.

Connie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations/Organizational Psychology from Iowa State University. She has also earned the SPHR and SHRM-SCP designations.

Gretchen Thompson

Gretchen started her career as pricing analyst for mutual funds in 1999 and transitioned into HR leadership in 2006. As a result, she is skilled in a wide variety of HR disciplines and has served across many industries as well as small and large organizations.

She has had increasing responsibilities, including performance management, coaching and employee development, employee relations, policy development and compliance, compensation practices, employee engagement, strategic planning, and total rewards.

Gretchen has been responsible for driving change, coaching leaders, and building high performing teams. Gretchen has helped evaluate company total rewards programs, created communication plans, improved pay for performance outcomes, created and delivered training materials, developed handbooks, and established HR infrastructure. And she is also a licensed Realtor®.

Gretchen holds a master’s degree in human resources and industrial relations from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, Minneapolis, MN. And she has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in industrial/organizational psychology and a minor in chemistry from San Jose State University, San Jose.

Michael Conroy

Michael Conroy works as an independent business consultant for small and medium sized businesses in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.As a consultant, he helps his clients maximize the value & profits of their company through interviews, research and leadership.

His HR experience focuses on corporate training and investigations. Michael brings a wide breadth of experience to assist companies organize the underlying and complex issues that accompany an investigation. He applies his charismatic leadership style and professional skills to assess all elements of an investigation and find the underlying cause of a business challenge.

In addition, Michael is a licensed Sales Agent and assists companies to sell their business or assess acquisition targets. He has worked with clients through family business succession planning and transition.

Michael is an MBA graduate from University of MN-Carlson School of Management. Prior to attending graduate school, Michael spent 14 years with the St. Paul Police Department and 4 years in the United States Marine Corps.
