About Gretchen Thompson
Gretchen started her career as pricing analyst for mutual funds in 1999 and transitioned into HR leadership in 2006. As a result she is skilled in a wide variety of HR disciplines and has served across many industries as well as small and large organizations.
She has had increasing responsibilities, including performance management, coaching and employee development, employee relations, policy development and compliance, compensation practices, employee engagement, strategic planning, and total rewards.
Gretchen has been responsible for driving change, coaching leaders, and building high performing teams. Gretchen has helped evaluate company total rewards programs, created communication plans, improved pay for performance outcomes, created and delivered training materials, developed handbooks, and established HR infrastructure. And she is also a licensed Realtor®.
Gretchen holds a master’s degree in human resources and industrial relations from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, Minneapolis, MN. And she has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in industrial/organizational psychology and a minor in chemistry from San Jose State University, San Jose.
